HRH Earl of Wessex Virtual Visit to North Yorkshire

HRH The Earl of Wessex carried out a virtual visit to North Yorkshire on 25th February, and met via zoom with a number of leaders and charitable organisations from across our region.
His Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex paid a virtual visit to North Yorkshire to discuss and understand the many challenges faced in our region over the past year or so.
Initially He ‘met’ with a number of leaders from the civic, emergency and other services the Chief Executive of North Yorkshire County Council, the Chief Constable of Cleveland Police, the head of Cleveland Mountain Rescue, the Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, the Dean of Ripon and two senior doctors from the York NHS Foundation Trust.
Following this a second meeting was held with leaders from charitable and voluntary organisations across the region who described the enormous challenges they have faced since Covid began. There were representatives from the Two Ridings Community Foundation, Home Start Richmondshire, The Island in York, The Genesis Project, Scarborough Whitby & Ryedale MIND, I Choose Life Foundation and The Big Communitea.
It was an enormously valuable virtual visit for all involved and a wonderful opportunity for His Royal Highness to get a real flavour of the issues in our area from a wide variety of organisations who have been involved in delivering key services during this time.
